The lone cowboy rode into town with a few dollars in his pocket. Tired of long cattle drives, he was contemplating his future. He was looking to buy a business (any business), become a businessman and settle down.
Today the town was filled with rowdy cowboys, fresh off a long drive. The small town had no laws, and no one to enforce them anyway, so the rowdy cowboys took advantage of the situation and took over the entire town. No man, woman or child was safe. The streets, sidewalks, and businesses were subjected to thieving, sexual assaults, drunken brawls, fights, and gunfire.
The lone cowboy had no part of the rowdiness taking place. In fact, as he was talking to the local banker about possible business prospects, a gang of cowboys were causing trouble. All were in fear, but the lone cowboy quickly diffused the situation.
Fed up with the crime, violence, corruption and “dirty business,” the town leaders (chamber of commerce) got together to discuss the possibility of hiring a sheriff. Several of them had witnessed the lone cowboy diffuse that volatile situation and they decided he’d be their man. They set out to hire a new sheriff to “clean up Wichita.” At first the cowboy refused to take the position of sheriff, however, after witnessing a horrific violent night and the shooting of a ten-year-old boy, who was just watching the commotion out his window, the cowboy agreed to be sheriff. However, he made it clear to the town’s committee - “I’ll choose my own deputies.”
He also warned the town that things were gonna be different. To which they replied, “Good!” They wanted a peaceful town.
So, the sheriff implemented some new rules, and all had to abide by them. It grew ugly and violent as the bad guys “rebelled.”
Lo and behold, however, there were a few of those original towns-committee-folks that “weren’t too happy” with the changes. Seems some of them were benefiting and profiting from the rowdiness and crime. The new sheriff needed to be reined in, so they had a little chat with him.
The sheriff wouldn’t bend; you see the rowdiness and crime had damaged and destroyed businesses and had taken the lives of many innocent people. The sheriff was determined to push forward with his plan of “peace through strength,” implement law and order, and make the town a safe place to live. The sheriff let them know, “You hired me to do a job, and I intend to do it; the cleaning up of Wichita will continue.”
Now the sheriff had an additional battle on his hands. Not only did he have to tame the bad guys, but he also had to face the “chamber of commerce.” They wanted to fire him, but he was elected by the city. They applied pressure to make him resign. They spread rumors to disparage his reputation. It got so ugly that one of the leading townsmen decided to hire a hitman to assassinate him. The assassin missed the sheriff but murdered an innocent bystander.
Does any of this sound familiar? In Wichita, Dodge City or D.C., it seems that Wyatt Earp and Donald Trump have a lot in common.
The movie “Wichita,” starring Joel McCrea as Wyatt Earp; is a great movie! One change or regulation he made (however necessary for the time), would be considered unconstitutional. The cowboys had to drop off their guns at the sheriff’s office while gambling and drinking, then they could retrieve them when they were leaving town. After cleaning up Wichita, Wyatt received a telegram; a new chamber of commerce was hiring him to clean up Dodge City.
Think of the United States right now as Wichita and President Trump as Wyatt Earp. In the movie “Wichita,” Wyatt did not want to be sheriff, he just wanted to live a calm life.
After he consented, he insisted on choosing his own deputies. He chose his brothers, who were played by Peter Graves and John Smith. Wyatt knew he could trust his brothers to “watch his back.”
Trump is choosing only those he trusts. He got a lot of that wrong the first go around, let’s hope he doesn’t repeat the same mistakes.
Keep praying for President Trump as he chooses his cabinet and others to help him “clean up Dodge,” or MAGA!
Think of Congress as if they are town-leaders and the local chamber. Trump has a lot of enemies and disgruntled “profiteers,” who do not want to see “Wichita, Dodge City or D.C.” cleaned up. As we all know, the front line of corruption is nonpartisan.
As the “deputy” choices are made, we already hear many of those in Congress grumbling and vowing to block President Trump’s deputies from being confirmed.
We all need to be little deputies for Trump and assist him by governing our Congressional members to support our President. We the People hired this new sheriff, and we must stand behind him. We must think futuristically, not politically. I advise you to call your Senators and tell them to confirm Trump’s chosen deputies. Remember, those RINO republicans had no problem confirming the perverts Biden nominated! (Call: 202-224-3121 and put them on notice!)
President Trump has been through hell for us, it’s time we stand tall in the saddle and insist Congress get behind him and start working to really Make America Great Again, and to stop lining their pockets with our tax dollars and perks from lobbyists. Downsizing the federal government bureaucracy and putting more of the decisions into the state’s governments, should make life easier for all, as well as put money back into the pockets of We the People.
What we do now will determine the futures of our children and their children and their children… as our Founding Fathers stated, “…and for our posterity.”
We don’t want the legacy we leave behind to be that of indebtedness, government serfdom and tyranny!
America’s crime has grown too deep, too widespread and violent for all… It’s Time to clean up Dodge!
