My thought is this… Freedom is never truly won – it is a constant battle – Thus the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Eternal vigilance is the price of Liberty.”
Or as I say, “Liberty is always in the hands of the People.”
We’ve talked a lot in the last many weeks about the people of Iran and how it is up to them to change their regime; declare their own independence.
Interesting thought or statement, isn’t it?
To quote Thomas Paine, “Tyranny like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” And he went on, “What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.
What if tyranny is from within? Yes, we know that there have been many tyrants, dictators, kings and uprisings in nations throughout history. Even our very own elected officials do very little to represent us or protect our Liberty. While they scream Constitution at others when they don’t get their way, they are always legislating on top of the Constitution, burying and concealing its original intent under a paper pile of legislative, bureaucratic confusion. However, what if the tyranny in America today, is the apathy and ignorance that lies in the hearts of this new generation of Americans; “We the People?”
Did today’s Americans obtain their Liberty too cheap… and esteem it too lightly? How else can we explain all the battles on “Capitol Hill,” or the recent primary election in New York. The New York youngsters primaried a declared socialist, a Uganda born immigrant, promising them the moon. Most of these youngsters’ lives have been extremely privileged, yet they want a government that will own everything and provide for them, just like mummy and daddy have always done.
Government owned land, grocery stores, farms, businesses… WHAAAT THE HECK are New Yorkers thinkin? My first argument is that nothing run by government is efficient; lack of competition brings an apathy toward others. Look at the Post Office or any other institutions that are run by government (local, state or federal) employees; the lines at the DMV should convince you not to have government run grocery stores!
I don’t particularly like to refer to our states by color, but for the sake of this article I will. The blue states (run by democrats) are dirty, broke, messy, plagued with crime, and homelessness. California continues to elect Princess Gavin as their governor, who spends more time on his appearance than he does on governing. California nearly burned to the ground more than once during Princess Gavin’s reign. However, Californians keep electing him; filling him with such puffed-up undeserved confidence, he could probably skip a Botox appointment or two. Princess Gavin is so full of himself he’s probably ordered a tailor to create his special look as he, like a professional model, saunters down the red-carpet runway to the White House.
I shared with my radio audience earlier this week an article that is so right-on. Our Constitution isn’t suspended, it’s buried under piles of federal laws, emergency powers and executive orders. Thus, today we are dealing with one federal law, mandate, regulation after another. To quote the Declaration of Independence:
Grievance # 10. “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”
I see no difference, really, in how our “political” leaders are governing us today!
When the democrat socialist party (that’s actually too mild a title for them) do not get what they want, they will cheat, riot, murder and cause continued chaos throughout the land. They want We the People to cry uncle and capitulate to their socialistic governing ways. Isn’t it strange hearing them scream “unconstitutional” when their very socialistic ideals are completely opposite of our Constitution; “unconstitutional?”
But that isn’t what happened in New York. Just like Californians, New Yorkers willingly walked themselves closer to the gallows of government slavery.
To quote Thomas Paine once again: “Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but “to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER” and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth.”
Watching NEW YORK do it “their way” along with other states and cities across America leaning to slavery and not Liberty, I can’t help but wonder, “Do we weep for liberty, which we have lost, or do we simply not understand the substance and sacrifice for which we once were made privileged?”
Obtained too cheaply! “Esteem too lightly!”
Failing to appreciate the sacrifices and the blood that was shed so that We the People in America would be a free and independent people, a sovereign nation, is costing us greatly.
Our Constitutional Republic has become an oligarchy of institutions, and our elected officials seem to only be working on their “portfolios” and for their next election. Today, as the Senate approaches a deadline for the Big Beautiful Bill, an unelected bureaucrat is running the Senate chambers and literally dissecting a vast amount of the bill’s spending cuts. According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough claimed the Medicaid reforms will have to be struck to comply with stringent budget rules. Budget Rules? So, we’re no longer looking to the Constitution but to a “Byrd Rule?” I don’t think so! This unelected democrat appointed bureaucrat now holds authority of “the purse” of the American People? Once again, I don’t think so! Elected Senate Majority Leader John Thune should permanently retire Ms. MacDonough immediately!
As we are just a week from celebrating our country’s “Independence Day,” it is important to understand just what that document declared and then ask ourselves, how independent are we today? Electing socialists and allowing bureaucrats to rule and legislate around our constitution doesn’t coincide with the vision of Life and Liberty given to us by our Founding Fathers.
The sixth grievance listed in the Declaration of Independence reads:
“He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.”
How cheap is your Liberty?
Please take time to read the Declaration of Independence and understand we are under tyranny today; tyranny that is brought on by our own apathy and ignorance on the part of We the People.
