Liberty is always in the hands of the people, but first and foremost it must be a longing and even a lust within their hearts, so that they (we) will stand up to the evils that would rob us, or more importantly deny our children of the abundant life; of Liberty!
We will soon celebrate the holiday in which we honor and remember the labors of Americans; Labor Day. Parents work hard to make better lives for their children; to provide the necessary items such as food, clothing, shoes, household needs, as well as education. Working to bring household revenue is vitally important, but it will all be for naught if our children will no longer have the opportunity to reach for the American Dream.
We must consider and take seriously the works or the labors due from us to assure Liberty for future generations.
“I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work.” John 9: 4 KJV
I’m going to twist this a bit for a point that I specifically want to make: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof...” Leviticus 25:10 – This verse is the inscription upon our Liberty Bell.
Is it not the duty of every American to proclaim and protect Liberty to make sure America is the land of freedom for all?
There is much we need to do, as American Christians. We have failed in many respects, as we tolerated abortion, being told it must be safe, and rare... to now, they are willing to kill a baby just before birth. And today, we are debating the verdict of a woman who, admittedly strangled her three babies, but is claiming her innocence due to mental illness; post-partem depression.
Morality in America has hit a new low BUT I pray we will not hit bottom BUT that We the People, the American Christians will have the fortitude and strength to “Bring America Home.” ©
Our Founding Fathers did Labor for Liberty!
The American Crisis: PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 12, 1777
“THOSE who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it. The event of yesterday was one of those kind of alarms which is just sufficient to rouse us to duty, without being of consequence enough to depress our fortitude. It is not a field of a few acres of ground, but a cause, that we are defending, and whether we defeat the enemy in one battle, or by degrees, the consequences will be the same.”
It is my concern today that we lack those American patriots who are willing to undergo the fatigue of supporting freedom. We must vote, but we must understand the extreme importance of every election. Yes, we now see each election as possibly the last election (legitimate election) that we will have in America. If we allow those who hate America to become “caretakers” of our Constitution, we will soon find out there will be no Constitution, no Bill of Rights, no respect for the Declaration of Independence, and no freedom; no Liberty!
Without our Constitution there will also be no rule of law and no justice in America.

We cannot think to ourselves, “Well, that’s New York’s problem, or Chicago’s or Detroit’s or Michigan’s, nor is it just Virginia’s or Minnesota’s problem.” As you can see with this list, the “problem” is getting very widespread. The problem? Americans hating America. It is those Americans who are greedy for power and willing to remove other Americans’ freedoms, their (our) inalienable rights, in order to gain and sustain ultimate power. The United States is broken and no longer united.
But is this brokenness the people or the politicians? Or both?
Thomas Paine on liberty and revolution
Thomas Paine was a fiery American revolutionary writer, pamphleteer, and intellectual, who is best known for his calls to action during the American Revolution. His writings did have an agenda however, and that agenda was Independence and Liberty in America.
Today we have youtubers and those quick but not always witted, influencers on Tik Tok and Instagram. They are more interested in clicks, followers and attention; and less concerned about Liberty. They have freedom of speech on these social media platforms, but if the communist-Marxist-democrats they adore are elected, that free speech will be gone! Having had a very easy life, they are not concerned about something called Liberty.
Thomas Paine wrote in The American Crisis; Common Sense, “The struggle for liberty is not for the weak; it requires strength, courage, and resolve.” He also explained that “Liberty is not a gift.” It is hard-won and must be actively fought for. Paine repeatedly warned that freedom is fragile and easily lost to tyranny, complacency, or cowardice. He urged ordinary colonists to break free from British monarchy, arguing that submission to unjust rule was a moral and practical failure of character.
I don’t know about you, but the word cowardice makes me look inward. Am I a coward that I would allow my grandchildren to become slaves to radical Islamist-Marxists, by my complacency?
His opening sentence, “THESE are the times that try men’s souls,” immediately makes us continue to read, as we want to know how to deal with the trouble. I say we are once again in troubling times, perhaps more troubling and more dangerous than our Founding Fathers faced; and I’m not at all attempting to diminish their bravery. Paine minced no words when calling out those who were complacent and perhaps just lazy cowards. “The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”
I don’t know of anyone who deserves our thanks more than President Donald J. Trump. He has endured a lot to Make America Great Again. One would’ve never thought that an American political party would be so anti-American that they would fight so hard to make sure America was never to be great!
In the years of our revolution, it took men (and women) who had an inner strength, moral courage and unshakable resolve. The fight we are facing today, while it’s not boots on the ground battles, is going to take the same characteristics of patriots as it did back then.
Don’t be a Tory!
Thomas Paine considered those who would not stand up for the American revolution for independence and against the king, to whom they remained somewhat loyal, to be cowards. They called these less than American people Torys; oh how he detested those Torys.
Do not be a modern-day Tory loyalist; who is more inclined to seek for what the government can give you, than to labor for how you can preserve our Constitutional Republic.
Paine saw the struggle for liberty as a test of human character, I see the same today. My concern is that Americans have grown soft, and unaware of what they will lose if they do not show up and vote on election day, or if they fall for the flattery and lies of utopia under Marxism. Many have been wooed by the deceit of radical Islam. Young women in America will lose all rights and if they decide to don their pink attire, they will die; that is Sharia law... not the freedom to protest as is our US Constitution. Under Sharia law there will be no First Amendment; Sharia law is a forced religious-cult of radical Islamist-Marxists; no Christianity will be tolerated, and no Jewish people will be allowed to live. America will be the “new” Iran, if we do not Labor now for Liberty!
Paine defended republicanism, human rights, and reason against despotism and superstition, always portraying the pursuit of freedom as an active, demanding endeavor unfit for the timid.
In Paine’s worldview, liberty is the highest human achievement, but it is earned through labor and struggle. The weak, those lacking the fortitude to confront injustice will never secure or maintain it. True revolutionaries must gird themselves with courage and determination, because the forces of tyranny never relent.
This message resonated deeply in 1776 and remains a rallying cry for anyone fighting oppression, reminding us that freedom is not passive, it is forged in the trials of effort and determination.
Liberty demands Labor, diligence, some patience, perseverance, action, and yes, a whole lot of prayer.
