If we were to ask these genius democrats (and republicans) just exactly what a democracy is, and how exactly is President Trump destroying it… I wonder what their reply might be…
Question: How is President Trump destroying democracy?
A. He’s ignoring and breaking the Constitution…
Q. Ok, how is he doing this most awful thing?
A. He’s implementing dictator policies and deporting immigrants…
Q. By following and enforcing the federal laws (immigration laws) which were voted on and passed by Congress (many years ago), you believe that he (the President of the United States) is being a dictator? Perhaps you should read this part of the Constitution. Article II, Section 3, Duties of President: “He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.”
A. Yeah, well he’s using the military against citizens, like a dictator, and that destroys our democracy.
Q. I can almost see your point there, if that was what President Trump is actually doing. America has approximately 330 million people, but in the last four years nearly 20 million foreigners (not farm workers) illegally entered this nation… that is an invasion of dangerous proportions! He has called in the military to assist police and ICE agents as they arrest illegal aliens, many of whom have committed federal crimes (coming into the nation without permission, according to the immigration laws written by Congress, is a federal crime) and other nefarious crimes such as human trafficking, rapes, murder, thefts…etc. We should, however, before we accuse the president of the crime (Again, looking to the Constitution in order to judge what his power as president actually entails. Article II, Section 2, Clause 1, Powers of the President: “The President shall be the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, (this means the National guard) when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinions, in writing, of the principle Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject related to the Duties of the respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”
Perhaps it would serve us better if we simply discussed exactly what a democracy is, and then we can ascertain if it is being destroyed.
Let’s look to the words of our Founding Fathers, who were the instruments in the construction of our government here in the United States of America. As we do this, remember the clause in the Declaration of Independence stating, Governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the Consent of the Governed; that means you and me, We the People.
“One of the worst forms of government is a pure democracy, that is, one in which the citizens enact and administer the laws directly. Such a government is helpless against the mischiefs of faction.” James Madison in the Federalist Papers
“Our true situation appears to me to be this – a new extensive Country containing within itself the materials for forming a Government capable of extending to its citizens all the blessings of civil and religious liberty – capable of making them happy at home. This is the great end of Republican Establishments.” Charles Pinckney Speech in Framing Convention.
“The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness which the ambitious call, and ignorant believe to be liberty.” Fisher Ames
“When a people shall have become incapable of governing themselves, and fit for a master, it is of little consequence from what quarter he comes.” George Washington
“It has been observed, by an honorable gentlemen, that a pure democracy, if it were practicable, would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position in politics is more false than this. The ancient democracies, in which the people themselves deliberated, never possessed one feature of good government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity. When they assembled, the field of debate presented an ungovernable mob, not only incapable of deliberation, but prepared for every enormity.” Alexander Hamilton
“Republican government is no other than government established and conducted for the interest of the public, as well individually as collectively.” Thomas Paine
“Republicanism is not the phantom of a deluded imagination. On the contrary … under no form of government, will laws be better supported, liberty and property better secured, or happiness be more effectually, dispensed to mankind.” George Washington
“We may define a republic … as a government which derives all its powers directly or indirectly from the great body of the people, and is administered by persons holding their offices during pleasure for a limited period, or during good behavior. It is ‘essential’ to such a government that it be derived from the great body of the society, not from an inconsiderable proportion, or a favored class of it.” James Madison
“A republic must not only be so in its principles but in its form.” Thomas Paine
“Our real disease … is democracy.” Alexander Hamilton
As you can see, in the words and thoughts of our Founding Fathers, the United States of America was never to be a democracy form of government, but a Constitutional Republic. As Thomas Paine stated above, a republic in its form not just in its principles … meaning the “public,” We the People are the government: Government deriving its just powers from Consent of the Governed …
We the People have been deliberately deceived and confused into believing that our nation is a democracy. Yet a democracy is a form of government that never survives, and a Republic form of government can only survive if the people (consent of the governed) are actively watchful of our elected.
Note without confusion that a democracy is not the Democrat Party and a republic form of government is not the Republican Party. Political parties are not listed in the Constitution.
You see, if I could talk reasonably with those who desperately believe that President Trump is destroying “our democracy,” I would simply explain…
Long Live The Constitutional Republic!
“What kind of a government do we have?” Mrs. Powell asked Dr. Benjamin Franklin … and his reply, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”
Our Constitutional Republic has been seized, and its documents have been contaminated by the impurities of “law makers,” for the pretense of a democracy, which does not work for the Liberty of We the People.
“When once a Republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.” —Thomas Jefferson
President Trump is not destroying democracy, however the multitude of the elected and their mass body of bureaucrats and extended institutions have usurped and confused the meanings of our documents and stolen our Liberties for their authoritarian desires for power and prestige.
There are many lies being taught to our young people in order to create a government that serves itself and its institutional departments. To remove the corruption, it is my advice to all people, vote every democrat out of office! Yes, it leaves us with corrupt republicans, however, such a bold move will be as if We the People dropped a political B2 bomb on the uniparty; I daresay that the republicans will begin to pay attention to the Will of We the People. Liberty is always in the hands of the people.
Long live the Constitutional Republic!
