What Is Patriotism?

Do you get that strange feeling of pride and sentimentality when you hear our National Anthem? I’ve heard others claim the hair on the back of their neck tingles, while others say they tear up with love, pride and sentiment for our nation.
How is it that today there seems to be so many who do not feel such pride? In fact, they feel ashamed and express disdain for America.
On the morning of July 4th I turned on the TV just in time to witness weirdos dressed in all black mourning attire, complete with black veils, head covers, black dresses, pants, black shirts; head to toe dressed in black! They took to the street corners claiming to be mourning all the deaths the United States of America has caused.
I’m not sure what deaths they are mourning. Were there wars and death? Yes, that’s what war is. While perhaps America has been entangled in wars that we should have stayed clear of, to blame the nation of America alone for death is an absurd notion based on ignorance. America has been a very generous nation helping other nations, providing assistance, healthcare, doctors and food during times of tragedy. These not-so-smart-mourners have no idea of how many lives America saves daily throughout the world! America sends billions of dollars to other nations. Our entrepreneurs and their innovations that rise from capitalism provide lifesaving medical procedures. Have they heard about the “Mercy Ships” which travel to third world countries and provide free surgical and medical care? American farmers feed the world. When was the last time these mourners and protestors witnessed such generosity from Iran, China, Russia or their “beloved” Palestine? (Which in reality is not a nation.)
Other protestors, completely ignorant of history, were carrying signs that said, “No human is illegal on stolen land… or ground,” touting the idea that Americans stole all the land. Is there any nation in the world that has not fought another for a plot of land? America did purchase land and expand our borders increasing our territory. All these deals took place in the 1800s: The Louisiana Purchase of 1803 from France cost America $15 million, which is much of our flyover country. The Adams-Onis Treaty of 1819 purchased Florida from Spain for $5 million. The 1846 Oregon Treaty procured land from Great Brittain. The 1848 Mexican Cession from Mexico cost America $15 million. The 1854 Gadsen Purchase from Mexico cost America $10 million. In 1867 America purchased Alaska from Russia to the tune of $7.2 million. Is it stolen land when it is purchased, or when there are treaties or agreements? I’m certain their reasoning is that “Natives” were here first, which is true, but the land had already been claimed by others, from whom America then purchased.
America has been a place of refuge for many, but we do have a right to know and judge the character and reason for asylum seekers. There is no other nation that just allows all people to flood their country, enemies, the mentally ill, and criminals. There is no other nation which changes its laws and language to accommodate “visitors.” Perhaps these protesters against “Trump’s policies” should be brought to the knowledge that the laws he is enforcing are the laws their democrat (and republican) representatives and senators placed in bills and voted into law. They are not President Trump’s policies; they are federal laws written and approved by Congress!
These people are sad selfish individuals. They are ignorant and empty; unable to see the good, and ungrateful to a country that allows them to display their stupidity and hate. They have no patriotism because they have no love.
America is now entering its 250th birthday! President Trump is trying to restore Pride in America today; that’s a part of MAGA! In order to make America great, or to do great things for Americans, you have to love your country. It is obvious many on the left DO NOT! That is why they reject anything that is good for America. Whether it is the LEFT-leaning democrats or the America-bashing media, they are the saddest bunch of individuals I’ve ever seen. However, the majority of Americans are done with these anti-Americans; they are an embarrassment to us all!
American Pride and American Exceptionalism
America is unique; our founding principles are what set us apart from other nations. What are those ideals? Our Founding Fathers, along with our forefathers (Pilgrims) before them, had a vision of men governing themselves, government existing only to be a servant to the people to maintain order and stability. To be governed not by a king or a dictator reigning over them, but government which relied on the people; “Consent of the governed.” America was to be free of royalty and class warfare; All men are created equal!
These new Americans, these men of old, were an exceptional group, and generation, of men and women. They tamed the wilderness and forged a new way of life, free from that king-guy in Great Brittain and equal in all ways to their neighbors.

American Unity!
Our nation is divided because of ignorance and FAKE news. There is no excuse for this division, other than it has been purposefully orchestrated by the haters and shamers. When the LEFT isn’t in power, they will call for violence; their rhetoric is that of great division; name calling, lies, and fearmongering is always their strategy. Recently the democrats in Congress claim, “People are going to die!” This is their verbal attack on the Medicaid cuts from the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which is an absolute distortion of what is actually in the bill, in regard to Medicaid.
The LEFT (Democrat Party) would like nothing more than for this nation to be in complete chaos and division. They blame President Trump, but it is always the LEFT calling for unlawful behavior, anger and attacks on all those who are a part of President Trump’s administration. The Democrat Party is anti-American. I do not know the “fix” for this, other than for Americans to wake up and vote each and every one of them out of office. However, that would take a well-informed people, which we do not have in today’s media.

I remember in 1976 when America celebrated its bicentennial - it was a special year! The President was Gerald Ford. We had just gone through an uneasy time politically. The nation needed to rise up from all the crazy Watergate “stuff.”
I’m ready to begin planning July 4, 2026! I’ll do all I can to unite Americans. First, as President Trump says, this nation needs God! We were established as a Christian (Godly) nation and we need to return to those ideas. “Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people, it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams.
Patriotism is knowing the truth about our history and understanding we are not a perfect people but we are a Free People! Patriotism is not being captured in the “group think” clubs. Patriotism is the understanding and respect for Independence and Sovereignty. Patriotism isn’t hate for countrymen, or hate for God. Patriotism is understanding the exceptionalism and wisdom of our Forefathers and our Founding Fathers. Patriotism is love of country and of countrymen; “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”
This love of country and countrymen causes patriots to stand for national anthems, to put their hands over their hearts, to recite the pledge of allegiance and to bow their heads in memory of patriots lost.
This quote is sometimes attributed to George Washington, “The thing that separates the American Christian from every other person on earth is the fact that he would rather die on his feet than live on his knees.”

We no longer need that exceptionalism to clear the frontier and forge through uncharted lands, but we do need the exceptionalism of a “peculiar people,” who will bow to no one on earth, but are willing to get on their knees in prayer to Make America Great Again and to Bring America Home©
