We made it! Happy Independence Day as America is now 249 years young! Today also kicks off a year of celebration as we prepare for our 250th birthday July 4, 2026! I’m excited and thankful we have a leader in the White House that actually Loves America!
With this fifth Substack article we will finish up our study of the 27 grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence, I do however, encourage you to take the time to read it yourselves again and understand it is just as pertinent today as it was July 4, 1776.
Grievance #23
“He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.”
In 1775 King George III declared before Parliament that the American colonists were in a state of open rebellion. After renouncing government here, he declared the Colonists were no longer under his protection. He began sending armies to the Americas. It was December of 1775 when Parliament passed the Prohibitory Act. The king sanctioned the acts of governors in employing Native Americans to quell his rebellion and he negotiated the hiring of German soldiers. (The Hessians)
John Adams explained the Prohibitory Act: “It throws thirteen colonies out of the royal protection, levels all distinctions, and makes us independent in spite of our supplications and entreaties…It may be fortunate that the act of independency should come from the British Parliament rather than the American Congress.”
What did this mean? By the king declaring he was no longer the leader of the colonies, he was declaring war against them!
Grievance #24
“He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.”
War leaves destruction!
Perhaps you’re thinking, but Beth, we don’t see the parallels these grievances have regarding life in America today. While we haven’t had our “elected government” officially declare war against We the People, the Democrat Party has called for violence, rioting and chaos. They lost the 2024 election and they only way they can answer that, is by hate and chaos. They have shown America who they are; Socialists-Communists-Marxists! Their way is not the way of our Constitutional Republic.
I have long noticed that the crises in American politics never changes. We still have a war on poverty (which has created more poverty). We continue to face an economic crisis, inflation is always in the forefront, along with a continually growing national debt. The war on drugs is ongoing, and there is an increasing number of addictions and death.

Grievance #25
“He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty and Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.”
In the days of our American Revolution, the king hired approximately 30,000 German soldiers (mercenaries) to fight the colonists. They were also known as the Hessians.
The sovereignty of the United States of America was dismantled by the Biden-Harris cartel, as they opened up our borders and allowed enemies (mercenaries) and criminals into our nation. We the American People with great fear and concern about the safety of our persons, property, communities, and our nation as a whole, took matters into our own hands; “Consent of the Governed.”
Liberty is always in the hands of the People, and the hands of the People delivered resounding losses to the Democrat Party during the 2024 election.
Since President Trump was reelected, the Democrat Party has waged a war of rage, chaos, confusion and lawfare against him; blocking and obstructing him as he tries to enforce the laws of the land. This alone should be proof to We the People that the Democrat Party stands against law and order, and against the Constitution.
Grievance #26
“He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.”
Before the end of December 1775, Parliament passed an act authorizing the capture of all American vessels with the direction to “not keep prisoners.” The act was condemned on the floor of Parliament as unworthy of a Christian people and “a refinement of cruelty unknown among savage nations.” Apparently, they were divided but chose to “go along” (with the king) regarding these heinous acts of murder.
Grievance #27
“He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions.”
There is an awkwardness in the verbiage of this grievance, but the truth is that the king instructed Lord Dunmore to employ Native Americans to attack and fight against the colonists. I’m not sure the means he used to incite them, but now the colonists were fighting the Indians, the Hessians, and the British soldiers.
Domestic insurrection? Does that sound familiar? The Biden-Harris administration and their band of democrat-merry-men, were constantly working at dividing We the People, using whatever means to keep inciting violence and hatred. They were draining us of our incomes by issuing more taxes. Inflation was purposeful and it is a hidden tax. They legislated against our Bill of Rights, and they ignored the Constitution of the United States of America.
When I started this series, my mission was to help us all understand that the tyranny in 1776 is not necessarily a thing of the past. Freedom is never truly won, and as we mentioned earlier, eternal vigilance of the people is necessary to maintain Liberty.
Big government vs. small government is always the battle for a free people.
We were established as a Constitutional Republic. The Republic was designed in such a way that it granted We the People the responsibility of governing; governing ourselves locally. The federal government occupying D.C. was to be the least and was never to have authority over the states, as it practices and legislates today.
“…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” What rights? Our unalienable Rights…among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
This nation has withstood a lot in the past, and even now there is great turmoil and division. We have one tough, determined leader in the White House now; President Donald J. Trump. We know he is tough, but he will not be president forever. The question today is, do We the People have the determination and grit of our Founding Fathers to assist in reestablishing our Sovereignty and regaining our Independence?
56 Men of integrity and grit unanimously represented the 13 Colonies and Declared America’s Independence, Our Independence. With vision and fortitude, the united States of America became a sovereign, free and Independent nation.
According to Paul Harvey, the difference in the American Revolution and all other revolutions throughout history is that: “Others had nothing to lose, but our Founding Fathers had everything to lose, and nothing to gain…except Freedom.” They were so committed to Liberty and Independence that when they signed the Declaration of Independence they mutually pledged to one another, “Their Lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honors.”
Liberty is always in the hands of the people. It is We the People who always have the responsibility to Bring America Home.©
